We are happy to share that the first edition of the ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Academy, organized by FocusNow, has been successfully completed.
The Academy began on January 15 and ran for six sessions over several weeks, combining in-person and online meetings. The goal of the program was to provide participants with a practical, experience-driven understanding of ServiceNow SPM, focusing on how the platform is implemented in real organizational environments.
Learning through real implementation experience
The Academy was led by two tutors from FocusNow, who shared insights based on their hands-on experience delivering ServiceNow SPM projects. Each session lasted two hours and combined several learning formats designed to connect theory with practice.
Participants were asked to review selected ServiceNow learning materials before each session so that meeting time could focus on discussion, demonstrations, and practical application.
During the sessions, participants explored topics such as:
- Introduction to ServiceNow SPM
- Demand Management
- Project and Portfolio Management
- Portfolio Planning
- Financial Management
- Reporting, analytics and AI in SPM
The sessions included:
- demonstrations of key ServiceNow SPM functionality
- real client implementation examples
- technical exercises and platform exploration
- discussions of common project challenges
- open Q&A with the tutors
The aim was not only to introduce the features of ServiceNow SPM but also to show how these capabilities are applied in real projects and how organizations adapt them to their needs.
Valuable insights from participants
One of the most rewarding aspects of the Academy was the active participation and engagement of the group. Discussions were lively, questions were thoughtful, and participants brought valuable perspectives from their own professional backgrounds.

A great group and a great atmosphere
The first SPM Academy cohort consisted of a highly engaged, energetic, and curious group of participants. Their questions, discussions, and openness to share experiences made each session dynamic and valuable for everyone involved.
The Academy concluded with an in-person final session, followed by a relaxed afterparty, where participants and tutors had the opportunity to continue conversations, exchange experiences, and celebrate the completion of the program.
